A taste of home - Soy Sauce Chicken Wings.

I've always been a fan of Teochew porridge, be it home-cooked or the stall at Gombak. Cabbage, Egg Omelette and Sardine with chilli padi - they can never go wrong. And one dish that I have to eat whenever I am at Gombak is the Soy Sauce Chicken Wings!

Simply love food that taste fab, yet easy to prep!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup light soy sauce
1/2 cup dark soy sauce
3 cups water
2 pound chicken wings (or drumettes)
1 inch ginger, peeled & sliced
3 cloves garlic, smashed
3 tbsp sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1 tsp five spices powder
1 scallion for garnish

Method:
- Using a slow cooker, heat chicken wings, soy sauce and water.
- Bring to boil and reduce to gentle simmer.
- Add all the ingredients and stir.
- Continue to simmer for at least an hour.
- Garnish with scallion, ready to serve.

Note: Continuous heating will make the meat "loose", just the way I liked it. I used the leftover sauce the next day and add into the porridge to make Minced Pork Congee. Perfect match!
